Airfix 1/72 Fairey Swordfish Mk1

Six Swordfishes were assigned to the Dutch squadron 860, which was founded at Donibristle in June 1943.
After a training period the squadron was transferred to Maydown and its equipment was increased to twelve aircraft.
The squadron was assigned to the MAC ship Wing of 836 squadron.
It was divided into two flights, operating from MAC ships between Maydown and Dartmouth. Flights were initially operated from the MV Acavus and MV Gadila. From June 1944 from the MV Macoma and MV Gadila.
After the end of hostilities in Europe, these wings were disbanded and the squadron was equipped in June 1945 with twelve Fairey Barracuda IIIs from 822 squadron. After the surrender of Japan the squadron was stationed on HMS Nairana.
